Associate Professor Phumla Sinxadi (MBChB, DA, MMed, PhD) is a clinical pharmacologist and Head of Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town. She is also the Deputy Director for the newly established SAMRC/UCT Platform for Pharmacogenomics Research & Translation Unit. She has more than a decade’s experience in convening and teaching undergraduate pharmacology courses to medical students, and some experience in postgraduate teaching and supervision. She is a National Research Foundation C2-rated scientist, and her research has focused on investigating concentration-response relationships between antiretrovirals and toxicity and how genetic differences influence drug exposure and response.
